Lyceum Series workshops on topics in The literary arts with Paul Koniecki

  • The Writer's Garret 215 South Tyler Street Dallas, Texas, 75208 United States (map)

Welcome to the lyceum. These free, monthly workshops are held on the third Saturday of the month, and offer writers of every genre and skill level an opportunity to learn, experiment and develop their craft. We hope you’ll join us!

The Poem is a Mirror. The Poem is a Train. I could be wrong. Or, on using Brian Eno & Peter Schmidt’s “Oblique Strategies” as poetry prompts to take a vacation from the ever-present “I” and make of your minutes a poem. Follow a guided brain-dump into mentor texts that highlight the power of contradiction and walk away with the beginning of your own remarkably vulnerable, awakening poems.

Paul Koniecki lives and writes in Dallas. He was once chosen for the Ashbery Home School residency. His work has been published by Cathexis Northwest Press, The Blue Mountain Review, Wild Roof Journal, Chiron Review, As It Ought to Be magazine, Henniker Review, Gasconade Review, Thimble Literary Magazine and elsewhere. He received an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2024.
