Poetry and The Common Good

  • All Saints Dallas 901 South Ervay Street Dallas, TX, 75201 United States (map)

Join us for Poetry and the Common Good, a public evening exploring the vital role of poetry and the arts in shaping a more compassionate, just, and flourishing society. This special event will feature Dallas Poet Laureate Dr. Mag Gabbert, whose award-winning work engages with themes of identity, place, and collective responsibility. Against the backdrop of our city’s evolving cultural landscape, Dr. Gabbert will share selected poems that speak to the civic and moral imagination, offering a powerful case for the enduring value of the written word.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception, followed by opening remarks and a moderated conversation with Dr. Gabbert as the centerpiece of the program. She will reflect on her role as Poet Laureate, the public responsibility of the artist, and the unique ability of poetry to foster empathy and social connection.
