Say It Loud! - A Chorus of Queer Memory

  • Irving Archives and Museum 801 West Irving Boulevard Irving, TX, 75060 United States (map)

What happens when history sparks new art?

Our landmark exhibition, Badge Of Pride: From Silence…To Celebration!, has inspired artistic expression in various forms. To capture that generative power, we invited 14 queer poets from across North Texas to step into the galleries, spend time with the artifacts, and find resonance with a theme or artifact on display. From those encounters came new poems—works of queer memory, resistance, intimacy, and imagination.

After the exhibit has closed, these voices will take the stage for one powerful performance. Say It Loud! is both retrospective and springboard: a chance to reflect on what this exhibition stirred, and to carry its energy forward into the future.

Featuring: Logen Cure (artistic co-chair), LyriK Hunter (artistic co-chair), Blaq Bailey, CLOUDGoddess the Poet, C.R.U.S.H., James Davis, Delaney, Aaron Glover, Kepler Goodwin, Guru, Arthur Maruyama,  Emmy Piercy, Mz. Trill, and Jennifer Elise Wang.
